Swedish Massage

Usually when someone thinks of massage they are thinking of a Swedish Massage. It refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones. SwedishMassage is relaxing and has therapeutic benefits as well. These benefits include enhancing your circulatory system, it also stimulates your lymphatic system by helping the body get rid of stored toxins which helps to strengthen your immune system. Your nervous system also benefits from Swedish Massage due to the relaxing nature of the massage. (30, 60 or 90 min)

Pregnancy Massage

This is basically a Swedish Massage that is catered to the needs and contraindications for women in all stages of pregnancy. In many countries, prenatal massage is a part of the prenatal health protocol. Pregnancy Massage helps with shorter labor for expectant mothers, as well as less need for medication, less depression, less anxiety, and shorter hospital stays. Prenatal massage is performed on a specific pregnancy massage table that has an elastic mesh on the table that enables the woman to lie face down with her stomach supported by the mesh. (60 min)

Hot Stone Massage

Heated stones are place on various areas of the body to penetrate deep layers of muscle and connective tissue. The stones are also used with oil or cream to massage the body with long flowing strokes. It is a wonderfully soothing experience! Hot Stone Massage is performed on a massage table without clothes. The client is covered with draping to protect her/his modesty. (75 min)

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is similar in appearance to Swedish Massage in that it is done with the client's clothes off and oils and/or creams are used. The massage itself uses some of the same strokes that are used in a classic Swedish Massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension, discomfort and/or pain. The focus is mostly on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and soreshoulders. There can be some discomfort or pain experienced during a Deep Tissue Massage but the benefits are usually worth it. (30, 60 or 90 min)

Seated Chair Massage

The client "sits" face down and fully clothed on a "chair" that is specifically designed for massage. The main focus is on the back, neck and shoulders. Seated Massage/Energy Work is a mini-session and is very useful when time is an issue. It is often used in airports, shopping malls, trade shows and corporate/office settings. Seated Massage/Energy Work is usually charged by the minute. (5-30 min)

The concept behind Reflexology is that the feet and hands mirror the body. For example, the top of the foot represents the neck area, the arch of the foot represents the digestive area, etc. It is based on the Chinese meridian system. Pressure is applied to points on the feet and/or hands that correspond to individual parts of the body and helps to bring the body into balance. After your session you will feel like you're walking on air! Reflexology is performed on a massage table or reflexology chair and the client is fully clothed except for his/her feet. Reflexology concludes with a gentle foot massage with cream. (30 or 45 min)

Also known as Acupressure, Shiatsu is a finger pressure massage technique founded on the Chinese Meridian System similar to Acupuncture. Bill applies pressure with his/her thumbs, fingers and palms to specific areas of the client's body that helps release blockages in the flow of Chi (vital energy) through the meridians that pertain to the organs in the body. Sometimes when there is a blockage the client may experience tenderness when pressure is applied.

There is also stretching and gentle joint manipulation involved. Shiatsu is more subtle than a typical Swedish Massage. Shiatsu is traditionally performed on a futon mattress on the floor. It can also be done on a massage table. The client is fully clothed (loose clothing is recommended). No oils are used in Shiatsu. (60 min)

(pronounce Too-We-Nah) means "Push Pull" in Chinese. It is a massage that uses Chinese Taoist and Martial Art principles to bring the body into harmony. It has been described as a combination of Shiatsu and Swedish Massage. Various techniques are used including kneading, brushing, rolling or pressing as well as gentle joint and muscle manipulation. Tuina is great for opening the body, relief from lower back & neck tightness and more. Tuina is performed on a massage table and the client has the option of wearing clothes. Little to no oil or cream is used. (30, 60 or 90 min)

Cranio Sacral Therapy

The principle of Cranio Sacral Therapy/Massage is that when blockages occur in our spinal fluid, an imbalance of the body happens, which can result in muscle and joint strain, emotional distress, and an imbalance of the function of the body's organs and nervous system. It is more of a gentle holding and soft manipulation than a massage. Cranio Sacral Massage is performed on a massage table and the client is fully clothed. No oils are used. It is very relaxing, nurturing and healing. (60 min)
