Swedish Massage
Usually when someone thinks of massage they are thinking of a Swedish Massage. It refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones. Swedish Massage is relaxing and has therapeutic benefits as well. These benefits include enhancing your circulatory system, it also stimulates your lymphatic system by helping the body get rid of stored toxins which helps to strengthen your immune system. Your nervous system also benefits from Swedish Massage due to the relaxing nature of the massage. Swedish Massage is performed with the client unclothed at their comfort level. The client is professionally draped at all times to protect her/his modesty.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is similar in appearance to Swedish Massage in that it is done unclothed (professionally draped) and oils and/or creams are used. This massage modality uses some of the same strokes that are used in Swedish Massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension, discomfort and/or pain. The focus is mostly on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. There can be some discomfort or pain experienced during a Deep Tissue Massage but the benefits are usually worth it.

Also known as Acupressure, Shiatsu is a finger-pressure massage technique based on the Chinese Meridian System similar to Acupuncture. Pressure is applied by the thumbs, fingers and palms to specific areas of the client's body. This pressure helps to release blockages in the flow of Chi (vital energy) through energy channels called meridians, that pertain to the various organs in the body. Sometimes when there is a blockage, the client may experience tenderness when pressure is applied. The tenderness dissipates as the blockage releases.  Shiatsu is a more subtle massage than a typical Swedish Massage. It also involves some stretching and gentle joint mobilization. Shiatsu is traditionally performed on a futon mattress on the floor. It can also be done on a massage table. The client is fully clothed (loose clothing is recommended). No oils are used in Shiatsu.

(pronounced TooWe-Nah) means "Push Pull" in Chinese. It is based on Chinese Taoist and Martial Art principles to bring the body into harmony. It has been described as a combination of Shiatsu and Swedish Massage. Various techniques are used including kneading, brushing, rolling or pressing as well as gentle joint and muscle manipulation. Tuina is great for opening the body, relief from lower back & neck tightness and more. Tuina is performed on a massage table and the client has the option of wearing clothes. Little to no oil or cream is used.

The concept behind Reflexology is that the feet and hands mirror the body. For example, the top of the foot represents the neck area, the arch of the foot represents the digestive area, etc. It is based on the Chinese meridian system. Pressure is applied to points on the feet and/or hands that correspond to individual parts of the body, and helps to bring the body into balance. After your session you will feel like you're walking on air! Reflexology is performed on a massage table or reflexology chair and the client is fully clothed except for his/her feet. Reflexology concludes with a gentle foot massage with cream.

Cranio Sacral Therapy
The theory behind Cranio Sacral Therapy that is when blockages occur in our spinal fluid, an imbalance of the body happens. This imbalance can result in muscle and joint strain, emotional distress, and an imbalance of the function of the body's organs and nervous system. It is more of a gentle holding and soft manipulation than a massage. Cranio Sacral Therapy is performed on a massage table and the client is fully clothed. No oils are used. It is very relaxing, nurturing and healing!

Hot Stone Massage
Heated stones are place on various areas of the body to penetrate deep layers of muscle and connective tissue. The stones are also used with oil or cream to massage the body with long flowing strokes. It is a wonderfully soothing experience! Hot Stone Massage is performed on a massage table with the client unclothed. The client is professionally draped to protect her/his modesty.

Energy Therapy:

Karen & Bill provide energy therapy treatment modalities. All energy work can be done fully clothed on a massage table or in a chair. During an energy therapy session Karen or Bill will combine the energy modalities they use to give you the best possible benefit for your body, emotions, mind and spirit. Energy therapy can also be blended with a massage for additional support of your healing.

Energy Therapy

Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) - Karen & Bill are Master-Instructors of IET. IET works with the violet angelic energy ray of compassion that powerfully and gently releases and clears old energy stuck in the body. IET is especially powerful to support those who have experienced life traumas and other issues that create diseases, disorders and repeating patterns in life. IET works with the client's vision for their life and their intention for healing. IET release's old cellular memory from 9 areas of the body through the IET ray and use of acupressure power points on the body. Your energy field is then re-energized and re-balanced for healing and forward life movement. IET can be done on or off the body, or through distance (remote) healing. (75 min)

QiGong Energy Therapy: - Bill is a Certified Level III QiGong Healer
(Pronounced Chee Kong) is Chinese for "Energy Work or Art". It is mostly a hands-off energy session with some light hand placement. QiGong works with the energy field to harmonize the Body, Emotions, Mind & Spirit. Fresh life force energy, "Chi" is brought to the energy field to provide a healing energy environment for the body to heal itself. QiGong is performed on a massage table or chair and the client is fully clothed. (60 min)

Reiki Energy Therapy: - Karen is a Certified Usui and Sekhmet Reiki Practitioner
Reiki is very similar to other energy therapies. The focus of Reiki is to provide a powerful healing field for the client to absorb fresh energy and release old energy from deep within the body tissues. Reiki involves saturating the body tissues with the Reiki ray for healing. Where IET focuses more on emotional issues, Reiki focuses more on physical issues. Karen blends Usui and Sekhmet Reiki to produce a vibrational healing environment for the body to promote self-healing. (75 min)
